The Mount Whitney Gallery
The Mount Whitney Gallery was founded in 2023 by Joshua Cripps as a way to share his passion stunning landscapes of the Sierra Nevada and beyond.
Set at the foot of the breathtaking Sierra with a view of the range’s highest peaks, the gallery features large format, museum-caliber fine art prints of Josh’s signature photographs.
Lone Pine has long held a special place in my heart. It may very well be my favorite location on the planet for landscape photography. To the east you have the sprawling intrigue of Death Valley National Park. To the west, my beloved high Sierra with its endless meadows and peaks. Almost any kind of landscape you can imagine exists in between. That sheer variety and stunning beauty is why I’ve chosen Lone Pine for this gallery, and my home.

The Classroom at the Mount Whitney Gallery
Photography Workshops
Join us in the gallery’s classroom where you will learn the technical, compositional, and artistic skills needed to capture your own spectacular photographs. Our workshops include classroom learning, field photography sessions, and post processing demonstrations.

Moonrise at Sunset in the Alabama Hills

We will attempt to photograph sunset as well as the moon as it rises over the Alabama Hills. Expect any kind of weather! There is a chance of rain and wind.
Friday, May 5th
Gallery Soft Open
The gallery will be open from 1 – 4pm in the afternoon. Stop by and get a sneak peek! Buy some extra raffle tickets. 🙂
Sunset shoot in the Alabama Hills

Unfortunately Josh won’t be able to attend this shoot, but introduce yourself to your fellow photographers and have fun! Walk northwest from the parking lot and follow the signs to Mobius Arch. Of course, there are many other beautiful things to photograph as well, not just the arch.
Saturday, May 6th - The Big Day!!
Moonset over Olancha Peak at Sunrise

We will attempt to photograph the full moon as it sets over beautiful Olancha Peak. The moon will go behind the mountain a few minutes before sunrise, so this is a blue hour shot.
Grand Opening Party! 5-8 pm
The Mount Whitney Gallery is officially open! Come check out the prints, chat, meet your fellow photographers, buy raffle tickets, and enter the silent auction. There will be finger food and drinks provided.

There will probably be people camping in this area, so please be quiet when you arrive.
