Seagulls and Sailboats
Boy, you gotta love a place where you can go shooting over and over and over again, and always come home with something different. Seeing promise of a good sunset tonight I hustled down to Panther Beach. I was a little later than I wanted to be and I saw the sunset starting to turn even as I was searching for a place to shoot. I kept heading south, trying out compositions and not really liking what I had. Frantically, and with much cursing because the sky was getting more and more beautiful, I kept searching and finally found this spot. I tinkered with a few compositions and finally said to myself: Ok, this is it for better or worse! I think it turned out for the better and is now one of my new personal favorites. Expect to see this one printed large at my next art show.
Oh, and regarding the title, if you look at the full-size version, you can find a seagull and a sailboat in the picture. I love all the little hidden details you can capture in a photo.

p.s. after the sunset faded I went exploring and found some really neat places to shoot in the future, so be on the lookout for more photos from this great beach!
